Our goal for our Wine Club is simple…take the tuxedo and gowns off wine. Strip off the snobby stigma that has intimated consumers for far too long. To be a translator to help you better understand wines, so you know if you’re holding the bottle upside down or not, etc…But also, to be a protector. That’s right, as we know, not all heroes wear capes…some wear Fresh Boston t-shirts and hoodies.

We want to shield you away from corporate artificial wines that will absolutely crush you in the AM and make you want to scream at the neighbor’s dog. Now this is not to say that all the wines we will be offering were made during a full moon by a left-handed, red-headed virgin with only 15 cases produced for the entire world. Hell no, that is not our angle.

We strive to live in the cozy middle world of wine retail. To balance some well-known brands with the obscure. To provide comfort zones and new adventures. To be both Danny DeVito & Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Louis de Grenlle, “Bellay” Blanc de Blanc, Loire Valley, France (Sparkling)

Only thing better than legit, delicious champagne around the holidays is…sparkling wine from nearby Loire Valley that is half the price so you can afford to get 2 bottles instead of 1! 100% Chardonnay, Sustainably farmed, twice fermented (tank, then bottle)….tennis, not pickle ball.

La Chablisienne, “Pas Si Petit” Petit Chablis, Burgundy, France (Med/Full Bodied White- Crispiest Chard Ever)

This is the complete opposite of a oaky, toasty, buttery Cali chard. Chablis in general are very steely, clean chardonnays and this one is even more racy in that it doesn’t even see any oak. I challenge Southie Sauvy B loyalists to look me in the eye and tell me this doesn’t do it for yah.

Tenuta Scersce, “Nettare” Nebbiolo, Lombardy, Italy (Medium Bodied Red)

I describe this wine the same way I would our staff here at Fresh…Robustly elegant. You take a big, full bodied varietal like Nebbiolo (called Chiavennasca where its grown…say that 4 times after a couple shotskis) and allow it to fully express itself without the use of oak and you have a robust yet elegant red on your hands. Comes from one of the top hidden gems regions in Italy, Lombardia.

Brendel, “Cooper’s Reed” Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, Cali (Full Bodied Red)

Napa has gotten quite corporate and expensive last few decades…its harder than ever to find value from a family run company. Fear not, we have just the Napa Cab to restore your faith in domestic reds.
